第一你应该了解will be doing这种形式有二种不同使用方法。第一种为你学过的以后进行时，即在以后某个时间点或时间段某个事件将正在发生，会结束而暂且没结束。比如：Can I call you at 3 p.m.? No，I will be having a meeting at that time. 下午三点钟我将正在开会，你不要在三点钟给我打电话。这种以后进行时是不可以改为一般以后时will do的。
will be doing 的另一种使用方法为表达所谓的纯粹以后时间。在传统语法中will可以是时态助动词表示以后时间，也可以是情态助动词表示意愿、意志。所以will do到底是纯粹的以后时还是情态动词使用方法，有时会产生歧义的。比如，Tom will come tomorrow. 到底是Tom明天想来（will为情态动词），还是说话人预测Tom明天会来（传统语法把这种预测的will剖析为时态助动词），没上下文时句子就有歧义。为了防止歧义，说话人想要排除will在此表示意愿，就会用will be doing形式。比如，Tom will be coming tomorrow. 这种使用方法的will be doing就是所谓的纯粹以后时间。这种使用方法的will be doing 都可以改为will do，只须了解will不是表示意愿即可。在已经非常了解的状况下，即will不是表示意愿，则用will be doing为非正式语体，用will do则语体较为正式。
